Spencer Block Featured by the Downtown Victoria Business Association

When Spencer Block opened its doors, the people who know downtown Victoria best were there to welcome us. The Downtown Victoria Business Association (DVBA) was part of this celebratory day, calling Spencer Block “a big addition to downtown Victoria.”

The DVBA Joined the Celebration

DVBA CEO Jeff Bray joined Nicola Real Estate, Mayor Marianne Alto, and project partners for the opening. In its post, the DVBA noted that once complete, Spencer Block will bring 278 new purpose-built rental homes to the area where Chinatown, Old Town, and downtown meet.

The DVBA advocates for a vibrant and prosperous downtown, so its support matters to us. Spencer Block was designed to be part of the neighbourhood, not just sit in it.

Why Downtown Businesses Are Excited

The DVBA said one of the most exciting parts of the opening is what happens outside the building. More people living downtown means more people grabbing coffee, going out for dinner, shopping, booking appointments, and becoming regulars at the businesses around them.

That’s the idea behind Spencer Block’s location. Surrounded by a mix of local businesses, our residents have the shops, restaurants, and services of downtown within walking distance of home. The DVBA’s post pointed to that same incredible mix of local businesses that new neighbours can now enjoy.

A Warm Welcome for New Residents

The DVBA ended its post by congratulating the Nicola Real Estate team on reaching this milestone and welcoming Spencer Block’s newest residents downtown. We’re grateful for the welcome, and our residents are already settling in.
